Description
“Dil uthai loi jabo nisina”—so beautiful it lifts the heart. Multiple master weavers created this jaw-dropping piece of art, each bringing patience, skill, and devotion to the loom. More than cloth, it is an heirloom to be cherished. The bed runner, painstakingly handcrafted on the loin loom, is both intricate and extraordinary. To achieve its full length and pattern, three separate woven panels have been carefully hand-stitched and joined—a process as challenging as the weaving itself. Aligning motifs, preserving symmetry, and securing the joins is painstaking, time-consuming work that takes weeks to complete. The flawless finish is an art in itself—seamless, refined, and timeless.
The design features the Mithun head motif, a powerful emblem in Naga culture. The Mithun, revered as a symbol of wealth, honour, and prestige, represents strength, dignity, and prosperity. Woven in striking hues of blue and white, the runner embodies deep cultural meaning. Blue signifies wisdom, depth, and a bond with nature, while white symbolises purity, peace, and harmony. Together, they create a textile that is breathtaking, awe-inspiring, and unforgettable—a true focal point wherever it is placed. Each tassel, each stitch, and every joined panel celebrates the collective artistry of the weavers, who have transformed threads into living heritage.
